The doors are closed… Thanks!

The My 2000-Year-Old Double exhibition was closed on May 12, 2019 at the Musée de la civilization in Québec City. Digital project as much as a great human adventure, the exhibition had an impressive echo in Quebec, and internationally, even before its opening in October, 2018!

Indeed, ever since the release of the website you are currently visiting, which allowed couples to form between today’s faces and the statuary of antiquity, more than 108,000 faces have been posted to find their ancient twins!

More than a morphological research tool, this website has been stepping stone for the narrative of the exhibition.

The Musée de la civilisation welcomed nearly 140,000 visitors during the seven-month presentation of the exhibition, a success largely attributed to this unifying project.

We would like to acknowledge the collaboration of lenders, the Geneva Museum of Art and History and the Gandur Foundation for Art, as well as the collaboration of photographer François Brunelle, presenter Polycor, and the CHU epithelium laboratory of the Laval University.

From the 23 participants, the museum team and all the lovers of the project, a huge M E R C I !
